As it’s a norm for JKCC of empowering the next generation of farmers with the relevant tools to maximize coffee growing and production, the team engaged in a one-day expo that took place at Sheraton Hotel.
The expo was organized by Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator (UGEFA), an EU-funded project that improves access to finance for green enterprises.
JKCC staff members and other teams from different organizations were taken through the financial literacy training at aims at imparting skill of managing finances.
Unia Namukwaya, JKCC’s Human Resource manager who led the team revealed that It starts with practicing financial attitude and financial behavior leading to financial capability urging members to always observe financial discipline.
Addressing members at the expo, Namukwaya revealed that JKCC is committed to uniting with farmer groups with strength against fraudulent middlemen, help establish and train groups of coffee growers’ best practices in this business.
About the green campaign, JKCC has embarked of making briquettes as a way to mitigate deforestation.
The Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator is an EU-funded project that improves access to finance for green enterprises. Through an integrated package of enterprise capacity building, facilitation of tailored and accessible loans, and engagement with the green enterprise ecosystem in Uganda.
